Question Galadriel and Nenya

I was watching the Extended dvd version of FotR and i noticed in the scene "The Mirror of Galadriel" something peculiar.
Well Galadriel mentioned Nenya and she showed frodo the ring she bore. But i always thought that the elven rings were worn after the destruction of the ring? Or was it visible because Frodo had the one ring?
Could somebody help me out on this
Thanks

The elven rings were worn and used after Isildor cut the ring from Sauron's hand. But they were still hidden from Sauron when he returned.

Frodo could see it because he was a Ringbearer too. Sauron would have seen the Three only if had gained back the One.

quote:
But i always thought that the elven rings were worn after the destruction of the ring?

What you might have been thinking is that the rings were hidden until the one ring was destroyed. Frodo could see it because he bore the one ring. Nobody else could until after the one ring was destroyed.

In the last chapter of RotK "Gandalf was openly wearing his ring", but while Frodo saw Nenya properly, Sam just saw "a star shining through her fingers"
