Best locations
Ok, we've had Best Avatars, best titles, best threads... Have we had best locations?
If so, I am deeply sorry, but I could not find it, so here goes. You may, or may not, have noticed the locations that everyone has on each post. On mine it reads; “Location: The citadel of the King” So for all ye downers that be yet dead, vote for you favourite location.

It got closed though. If I'm remembering correctly the thread got flooded with off-topic posts and things got so crazy that BW had to close it. We'll just have to see if he allows this thread to stay open.

I also like yours, Diamond (Staring at the ceiling, making friends with shadows on my wall). It reminds me of the Everclear song that says- "I see faces on the ceiling I see them move, I hear them singing" and also- "I see pictures in the clouds So obscene I gotta laugh out loud" Is that where you got the idea for it?

Location: real life!
Though I enjoy the fantasy locations many members have (yes, Aylwen's "Isle of Conclusions" is brilliant!), I'd like to speak up for all those who use their real locations. If it weren't for them, how would we know that this wonderful site includes people from not only North America and Europe but, to name a few places, Russia, India, South Africa, the Philippines, New Zealand and... Georgia (the Eastern European country, not the U.S. state)?! Our web really is world-wide!
I also find it helpful to know where a member is located so that I have an idea what the time of day is there when I'm waiting for an answer to a post or PM.

I'd post my real location (New York, not the city, GMT -4), only I rather enjoy posting locations that connect more to my state of mind than physical location. Such as "Cloud #9". Although that doesn't particularly apply at the moment... time to change it.

Thanks Mariska, I didn't realise anyone remembered mine after all this time.
My personal vote goes to Saucy, as that was the second song I learned to play on guitar, and still one of my personal favourites. |

How can I not like Thorongil's and Evisse's? They're both Nightwish songs!
Beren87, yours is great too.

Yes, that's cool isn't it But what do I see, NightKnight, you changed your location and it's not a Nightwish song, why you deserter!
I like all those that have been said before...I also like Firefoot's 'here at the end of all things". And Lhunadawen's is something if only for the length and the story-like quality (it also stops abruptly at a key point in the telling...darn)

I think somebody (I forget who)'s location went something like this:
Outside your window. Yeah, the big tree. No, not that one. Yeah, up there. That one was very clever. What exactly is Sapphire_Flame's location about, anyway? I don't have a clue what a xenomorph is. Doesn't she ever get tired of playing with that thing? I figure it must have gnawed her face off by now. I've received a couple of interesting comments about my gorilla cage location not too long ago. Apparently, people think I'm actually a gorilla. What they don't know is that some crazy zookeeper just happened to throw me in here and nobody's ever let me out. Why this particular zoo had to hire extremely nearsighted zookeepers is beyond me.

You know me well enough, love. Would I take a break? And for some reason, "the phantom" has a location that really amuses me. I was in Omaha once, and it was very.... field-ish. Yes, I realise it's a big city and I was way outside of it, but I still can't shake the image of the phantom sitting in a corn field on BD. Edit: And I'm naturally very fond of The Only Real Estel's new one. Last edited by Beren87; 09-07-2004 at 09:07 PM. |

The first part of Imladris's 'location' conjures up a vivid image in my mind for some reason - 'sitting in the Ashes of the phoenix'. Makes you wonder whether it is talking about another phoenix or whether she is actually the phoenix...

Feanor, I love your location, very amusing. Also, Morsul's location "Pure imagination" very scary, this Willy Wonka obsession is disturbing. , but still amusing, funnily enough.

I just noticed Sirithheruwen's location: Wind's Road. Very pretty; it makes me feel like wandering away on an adventure in the mountains of a faraway land, or riding the back of an eagle.
