Iaurhirwen, if you would read the entire text concerning Gollum at the pool of Henneth Annun; then read my question very carefully; then look at all the answers I provided; simply apply a little logic...then you would realize the correct answer.

As of yet...no one has given the correct one!

I do believe I understand. The answer would be 3 because he had eaten some of the fish so even if he was not holding them their had been some he had eaten, which then of course would still be with him.

well, firefoot, you did not give one of the answers I provided in the multiple choices; however, you followed logical reasoning to understand that Gollum left the pool with more fish than he carried out in his grubby hands!
