Gasp! Phantom is seen holding the jar of Mayo in his mouldering left hand, and then throwing it with his ghastly right! Continuity error, or basis upon which the whole plot rests??

It's just a trick of the light! If this was animated, it would have been a big, CGI whirling camera move.

I also wish to express some congratulations about the penultimate scene--I did NOT expect the Phantom to do that at all--but it fits his character and the situation and everything.
Well done, old chap!

Indeed it is! It makes me quite sad to know that I will not be able to read the last P&A until nine days after it's published. That fact alone is going to ruin my entire kayaking trip. Perhaps I should cancel it. Anyway, I'm greatly looking forward to Volume 3. From the preview artwork I've seen it looks highly entertaining! |

The End Begins!
It's been an interesting ride. We went from a lost job, a crazy investigation to a secret group and a power crazed Fish Man. What could be next for The Phantom and Alien? Where in the world will they go?
Fans, Romans, country men, I present to you the FINALE of volume two. Almost a year in the making, this story was designed to excite, entertain and induce vomiting. I hope it has done all of these things and more. Now, to round off this fine volume, the longest P&A comic EVER! Feel free to go back and re-read the whole story; COMIC ARCHIVE Next week, we see the start of a new adventure for Phanston and Ailsbry. See you all then. I may be redesigning the P&A website to coincide with volume three, by the way. So... look out for that. I think I'll be going back to the once-a-week slot for a few weeks now. Mainly because Volume three isn't finished yet. So... Here's a reminder of what's coming up; 11th May - A special three-part Phanston and Ailsbry 1 st June - Special comics drawn up by other Downers. 22nd June - Volume 3 prologue 29th June - Volume 3 episode one! Thanks for all your support throughout volume two. It always keeps me going.

You are welcome, Hookbill... but you honestly can't end the Volume 2 like that?
But anyway, great it is! (And here I especially like the part with SpM. Especially the second frame. Cool! And I like even the parts with phantombot and with Lommy... and Phantom's discuise, of course.) Looking forward to whatever is to come now

The cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers.
You could spend an entire volume answering any one of the lingering questions: Is Alien dead? How does the phantom die? Will the phantom REALLY die? Who put the jelly in SPM's house? Who becomes Downs Chancellor? Who's the detective wight? and... more importantly.... When do I get a(nother) cameo?

There IS a clue. Check SPM's last appearance in the series.
Volume 3. And quite a substantial one at that.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR
Dear Sir and/or Madam: Rumors of my affair with a box have bin overblown. Pandora and I are merely friends, in case you weren't aware. She's really not my type, as she has too much junk in her trunk -- if you know what I mean. I'm sorry, I just had to get that off my chest; I couldn't go on dragging that baggage about with me. Regards, Morthoron Moriquendi Prince of Portmanteau

The resolution to this cliffhanger will blow you away, man. Don't worry, I've got it all planned out. And no, Alien is not DIRECTLY involved in Phantom's death.... well... sort of... IT'S COMPLICATED!

It's news time! Thanks to Laurinquë for the second story.
Later this week we'll have a special 'sports section' written by the phantom himself. And now, the beginning of a new investigation for Phanston and Ailsbry! It's exciting! Comic Archive The case of the stolen thing continuities next week.

Even though it goes against EVERYTHING I BELIEVE IN, here is the first of your weekly sports 'news' pages.
Most of this is the fault of the phantom and Skipspence. BLAME THEM. There will be another one next week. Probably on Tuesday or Wednesday. And for you P&A fans, during the week commencing 25th of May, the Phalian website will be revamped and include a preview of volume 3! (By preview, I mean the prologue and some sample art work). So look out for that!

Well, it seems I made a slight miscalculation. Oddwen has kindly sent me THREE guest comics. Neat. So, to make sure things fit a little better, I'm posting up the rest of Phanston and Ailsbry this week.
Next week we'll have Oddwen's guest comics. Depending on if I get the other guest comics on time, we may have to endure something else. Maybe a Fungoltch und Shcmurt or two. THE CASE OF THE STOLEN THING continues on Friday. Previous Episodes The next episode has the shocking conclusion to this investigation. It's... Shocking.

Get your face off the roof and stir your pants into your tea! It's time for the final instalment of Phanston and Ailsbry: The Case of the Missing Thing!
Gosh! I think they managed to destroy the universe. Oh, Ailsbry, how could you? Previous episodes Woo! That was fun wasn't it? Well, we're fast approaching the start of Volume three. I hope you're looking forward to it. Next week sees the start of some guest comics. The ones I've received so far are wonderful.

News on the run!
Next week is the 150th edition. I can't believe I've been doing this for 150 weeks! More, if you include the Barrow and other parodies. After next week I'll be taking a break from the paper for a few weeks in the hope that my creative brain workings will recharge enough for some fresh ideas. Or something. Extra special thanks and sausages to Oddwen for this, the first of a three part guest special! It's stored in the Comic Archive!! I hope you other guest artists are working hard. (Not that I've ever worked hard on P&A...)
