Another good topic!
Well, I am very much like a Hobbit anyway - my 'real' name is even a Hobbit name! And I look like a Hobbit - minus the hairy feet. But I'm most like Bilbo. A bit eccentric, not a very keen adventurer, and I like to sit in the garden and smoke. I'm always saying I'll write a book one day, and I am sometimes a bit too nosy for my own good. And, if I had a ring which made me invisible, I'd use it all the time, too. It's a bit disturbing really, because my father looks like the film version of Bilbo. I can sometimes be just a bit defiant, like Eowyn, but she's more like the younger me.

I would have to say that I am most like Merry. Adventurous and brave if the ocasion calls, and I also love spending time with my friends, but I'm not quite as curious as Pippin. oh! and I like food!

I am a hobbit/elf. I love nature and am most happy with a few friends or solitude. (sp.?) But lately, my two best friends have been struggling with their identities ad in general finding out about life. I don't agree with some of their decissions, but I will stick with them all the way to Mordor and beyond no matter what. When I pledge loyalty, I mean it forever, not just for the school year, or a little while; I mean it forever. So, I truely believe I am a Sam. Sure, I like my food (how I got this lovely figure), and nature is really important to me and loyalty I hold above all other qualities.
But then again, I have a sword necklace that I wear always...I am always willing to defend my friends. (maybe with pots and pans... but hopefully a little bit better prepared then that !!)

I wouldn't be able to say which LOTR chacter I'm like. But from the Silmarillion I would say I was like Feanor or Thingol and maybe very possibly Elrond. But I don't know.

The BD Personality Test believes that I am most like Legolas but am also similar to Aragorn and Samwise Gamgee. Personally, I consider myself to be an Aragorn in regards to personality. Hate to say it, but I do enjoy leading. I am also a fan of long strolls in the wilderness and beheading large Uruks.

Grimku, you have the potato-head as your avatar? Beautiful.
I think that I'm most like one of the hobbits. Merry or Pippin. I'm good hearted, kind of naive at times. Sometimes my curiosity gets the better of me, and sometimes I do downright foolish things, but all in all I try to do the right thing. I'm rather young. Also, I love to eat (heh heh).

I suppose I'm most like Faramir. I'm quiet and reserved, but willing to fight for the protection of the things I love. I'm always looking for the approval of the people I look up to, and I'm quite avid about nature.

well mad by name and by nature it seems Mr. Baggins.
Sure he may be the ugliest character by a mile but Gothmog holds his place in one of the top rungs of players. Not saying he has the importance of a Baggins, Samwise or Aragorn but still in the RotK he is second in command only behind the Witch King of course of Saurons Armies. Anyway you must be wondering why I am saying all of this, well to be honest, I was kind of wondering what the hell is with your avatar. Cheers buddy. All the best, GtBA

Hmmm..I really had to think about this one, because I don't really think that I am much like any one person in ME, more like a conglomerate..but if I really had to choose I'd say Aragorn..because he feels as if he is not worthy to be King of Gondor. I often suffer from an inferiority complex !! so I can relate to that.
But if I had to choose someone to get drunk with, it'd be Merry and Pippin hands down

I think i'm sort of a Frodo person. all the personality tests i take, i come up as Frodo usually, but there's also the odd "You're most like Legolas" or "You are most like Sam", but mostly Frodo. i think it's because i know what has to be done, and if no one else will, i'll do it. and i'm sort of a loner. people are ok, but sometimes, enough is enough!
cheers! Elrond's (other) daughter

I took the personality test & it says I'm most like Gandalf, but also my personality is alot like Legolas & Samwise. I would definitely have to say Sam. Like Sam, I have a very simple outlook on life, but I know if my courage & strength of heart was desperately needed, I would use it, full force. I like to think of Sam as my alter ego. I couldn't think of any other character I'd rather be like
Except Merry or Pippin, those 2 always having a blast.

Okay, question time folks.
If you had to pick any character out of LOTR that you felt were most like, who would it be(personality test excluding) ?I myself aren't sure, I sometimes think I'm most like the Mouth of Sauron due to my great insults (and bad fashion sense), but what about you lot? the barrowdowns does have a personality test. I came up most like Boromir, and close to Sam. So it is Boromir since he is most like myself. But if I were not going by the personality test and just thinking, it might be Elrond (except not as grumpy).

The personality test always tells me I'm Legolas, and similar to Aragorn.
I'm tempted to say I'm more like Elrond, simply because we're both grumpy. It's hard to pick just one or two characters; I have different points in common with a lot of them. I could say I'm a lot like Eowyn, I'm somewhat like Faramir, a little bit like Finduilas, and I aspire to be like Imrahil. With a bit of Pippin thrown in. I don't feel like I have anything in common with the Elves, apart from a tendency to like forests, or any other prominent characters such as Aragorn, Gandalf, Frodo, or Theoden. I s'pose a better question is, since I can't decide: which character does everyone else think I'm most like?

An Introvert alike...
Oh, how i have thought about this topic... well, i see myself as a mixture of characters, my favorite character Boromir (*Praise the Disco-King!*
) though, not being anything like myself. Honestly, i see myself as a Radagast, or i can realate to him the most. Though little is said about him, i feel very much alike. Tolkien for me, explained and presented him as being sort of detacted from the human world, introverted, mysterious but ideal. I relate to him in two ways, maybe even more. I love animals, i do not know or want to know my life without their influence, another is that i find myself always giving advice to friends and family when they ask it but, i always hide myself or dissappear when someone expresses their thankfulness by telling others about me or thanking me. Also i love rural areas, even though i can agree some cities are wonderful (the closest to me being Seattle for comparison), I can't cope with how crampt and lifeless they are. In other words, give me a deserted island or costal forest and i'm estatic. Well, that's all i have to say. Wish i had more but, that's it. - KA

I'm probably most alike with Thorin. I have his temper and inconsistency.
I don't trust the personality tests. For one thing, each one gives me different results. I can't be Sam, Pippin, Legolas, Aragorn, Boromir, Gimli, and Arwen all at once! *Or can I?

Hmmm...This is kind of a hard question for me, and I'm not quite sure what the answer would be...so lets see...
![]() I'm a loner by nature. I can be very proud sometimes. I'm not really THAT brave, if you know what I mean... and I tend to lie a lot So what do we get? A mix of Boromir,Aragorn,Gollum and some other guy, who's a coward???(I'm not sure if there are any cowards in Tolkiens works...) I'm really confused now...

Wow, that's a hard question! As much as I'd like to say, "Galadriel! Tuor! Maglor! Finrod!" I can only say...Merry. Why, you ask? Let's not even go there...it's not flattering. At all.

Bilbo.
The propensity for writing things about subjects that he knows a lot on, but is no expert (e.g. Elves) feels very familiar, as does the stay-at-home routine mixed with a dash of moving somewhere foreign. And the pipe. But, I suppose, the most "human" character in The Hobbit is meant to be identified with... EDIT: Meanwhile, Gandalf is the character I would *like* to be: a crotchety old know-it-all with plenty of cause to be snarky.

Daeron also deserves a mention actually EDIT: ha, have just seen this thread says LOTR. OK sure, beside the Silmarillion they're all a bit shabby, but I suppose I go with the usual bespectacled option, Faramir...
