Prince Imrahil's daughter Lothíriel and Éomer got married, which makes Èomer Imrahil's son-in-law.

Alright then, series of questions concerning Kings of Mark: 1. With what name was King Théodon referred to in the legends of Rohan and why was this name used? 2. Who was the king when Saruman came to Isengard? 3. Which king had twinsons who died in Ithilien (TA 2885)?

Hmmm . . . I'll try #2. I'm guessing it's Helm Hammerhand. If it's not him, then it must be the king directly after him, who I don't know the name of.

Yes, your second guess was right, it was not Helm himself but his nephew, Fréalaf Hildeson who followed him to the throne.
So we have 1 out of 3 right. Need more answers!

Here's an interesting question.
How old was Aragorn in the Fellowship of the Ring? Hint: it's not obvious [ May 22, 2003: Message edited by: Tinuviel of Denton ] |

To answer Annun's other two questions:
1) Théoden Ednew; he was called this in the lore of Rohan because he had fallen under the spells of Saruman and was healed by Gandalf the White. 3) King Folcwine; his twin sons Folcred and Fastred went into battle, in his place, and were killed. And I believe Aragorn was 87 or 88 years old at the beginning of the Fellowship's journey. [ May 22, 2003: Message edited by: Eruanna ]

Ok, i dont know the answers to the horsemen questions (except the ones already stated ) but:
Without looking in the book, Without going on the net, without asking somebody else, with NO cheating at all, fill this in: Gimli son of _____, son of _____, son of _____, son of _____, son of King ____ the Second ,son of King ___, son of King _____. being a gimli fan i know this of by heart. lets see how far you get. and NO CHEATING |

It goes that far back?
I thought it ended with Gloín. I only know Gimli son of Gloín. I know that he is the nephew of Balin, but my knowledge ends there. I just finished the Hobbit, which I finaly got my hands on. Who was the King under the mountain before Dain and how did he die? Was Dain the rightfull heir of the lonely mountain? Suilad, Anuion |

never mind about not knowing that, im just a major dwarf fan, ive memorised gimli's ancestory to durin the sixth!
lemme see... dains father. dain ironfoots was nain the second, right? ooh... this is so embarrassing, seeing as ive read the dwarf appendices so many times. i should know all this! i believe he was the heir to... now, if ive got this straight, he was one of the three children of Nain the second. The third, id say. but thorin had been killed... so yes, he was heir to the throne. his father was killed in a battle somewhere? perhaps the battle of Nanduhirion (known also as Azanulbizar)? just so you know, if any of this is wrong, i did not look at the appendices or anywhere. this was all from my hazy memory. im gonna check im right now EDIT: i was wrong i got my nains and dains all confused. there were two dain son of nains damn them! lol, never mind. Okay, fine, I'll think of a different question.........
Who created the Ents? I know you'll know this, Helka, mister I-read-the-Silmarillion-in-only-two-days. Abedithon le!

Just for the record, it was not in my version of the silm, but didn't the elf did that? You know by talking to them and whispering the ents learned the language and started moving. That is what was in Lotr.

Yeah, you are right. The elves thought them to talk. But Yavanna created them. That's what I've read!

Dang, you people guess mine too easily! I might have to go back to my question about how many times Frodo wore the Ring.
Okay. How did Sauron die? (the first time) This is way too easy, but I'm trying to think of a real killer. Stay tuned...

I will try to answer how many times Frodo wore the Ring, I might have missed some, though.
1. @Tom Bombadil's house. 2. @ The Prancing Pony. 3. On Weathertop. 4. At the Breaking of the Fellowship. 5. On Mt. Doom Namarie
