Since the Board is Tolkien dedicated, I'd be glad to nominate ppl with elvish names (as well as second all listed above) (and not randomly generated by software of some sort, but those bearing some meaning) Here it goes: Mithadan (Grey Man) Durelen (Dark Star) Eruhen (God Child) lindil (Lover of Song) Aiwendil (Lover of small birds) Alkanoonion (The Glorious One (?)) latando angaina (One who opens [iron] Gate) (and don't tell me that the latter one is because I was using this account myself at a time - the choice of the name was unaffected by me, even though it was I who lured the owner into BD) The owners of the nicks listed will of course excuse my crude translations (and revelation of their meaning, otherwise obscure to commoners ) and make required alterations (if any) Apart from above category I would be glad to nominate Saulotus, obviously meaningful name meaning of which is obscure to anyone expect the bearer and selfsame Bob Wehadababyitsaboy just because in addition to Mr.Underhill (my compliments) there are tons of others worth nominating, but that's all I can recall at one go. I'll come in later if ... etc etc Sincerely,

Two people voted for me! Wow! don't know what to say! I'll vote: I love Orli Bloom...so creative and original. And, on a more serious note, I like burrahobbit, and Alkanoonion. They have nice Rings to them (haha, get it? Nice rings on a Tolkien site? Oh, forget it) I like so many names, it's hard to remember them all!

A definite new entry: propagandalf. I have no idea who this person is, but they're funeee!!! Ooh la, look here, 3 Russian-speakers (including myself) have just posted on this thread in a row. Coincidence? I think not. *wiggles eyebrow*

propagandalf Why can't I think of things like that when I create nicks? My nomination is (in addition to Maril, for beautiful simplicity) Samwise. Not the most original nick perhaps, but is there a nick better fit to describe her? [ January 18, 2003: Message edited by: vanwalossien ]

I have always considered The Green Ringwraith rather creative, if I do say so myself. Also Birdland; a nick that just sticks, somehow.

I love the name Marileangorifurnimaluim , even though it is HARD to spell right. Apart from that.. LePetitChoux always made me smile.. and, I've got to vote for burrahobbit as well - seeing as I'm a generally big fan of him.

I'd like to second "Child of the Seventh Age", for numerous reasons: for one, it's the only nick that sent me to the letters to research its meaning; it also inspired chapters of fanfiction; and it's the most wistful homage to Tolkien's mythos that I've seen. And she (the seventh age hobbit) is pretty cool, too.

I put in a vote for HerenIstarion. I had mentioned on another thread how I like to say it out loud cause it just rolls off the tongue. And sorry in advance if I spelled it wrong, I do have a tendency.
