I believe they were censored in the UK for language (esp. a number of "f" words).
The first is an MTV version of the Council of Elrond, with the ringbearer having too much mead and attaching the Ring at the Piercing Parlor to a sensitive part of his anatomy. The TT edition has Gollum interfering with Andy S. receiving an award for the movies cgi effects.

Yep. That's it.
It seemed but fair to give Celeborn more lines then in the abbreviated
