I'd highly recommend reading at least the last five or six pages of dialog, since any RPG that you join will expect you to do that as an absolute minimum. See if there are any conversations that you want to join. Ask people questions about who they are and what they do.

An important part of being invited to join an RPG is how hard you work at who you are, in The Inns. So take it seriously. If you write well at the Inn, you're much more likely to be asked to join a good game.

And by the way, be sure that you read the introductory material and the guidelines. If you click on "The Barrow Downs" and then on "The Shire", you'll see the guidelines; they're in the first thread, with zero replies.
