You have an awsome voice dude. Simple as that. It's a definite yes from me. Steve It seems that I don't even have to say yes, even though I would.

*Halfway out the door, and restrained by seven security guards, Alcarillos shouts out:*
Hear that! They said yes! Mwahahaha! I, Alc- oops, I mean Steve, shall be famous! Security guard #1: I don't think so, pal. You're a little too crazy for this contest. Security guard #2: Yeah. We can't let a guy who used a broom to fight his way in here participate. You're too unpredictable. Alcarillo: But that's what audiences want, right? Unpredictable characters to keep them on the edges of their seats! Security guard #1: But we don't want somebody who'll snap when he's voted off and will pose as a danger to others. You're . . . crazy. Security guard #2: Middle-Earth Idol is a high-pressure singing contest. We're not sure what somebody like yourself might do under such stress. Alcarillo: No! No! But they said yes! But, but, no! *Alcarillo is dragged out by the security guards, and that was the last the judges ever saw of Alcarillo (or was it?)* |

Hello. I am Folwren. This song I'm about to sing for you is something of a lament from Sam to Frodo after his master left the Shire to be healed across the Western Sea - mourning his departure, but knowing he can't follow yet, but will someday.
The original song is done by Lorena McKennit (the title of that is The Old Ways) and I'm afraid I've fairly plagiarized her lyrics. The lines and stanzas may seem odd, but it fits the tune perfectly. Sung in a clear, strong voice. Celtic style. You Had To Go On the dark summer’s night, near the Western shore I heard your voice singing The elven lights shown Bright stars on this earth, T’was a vision before me. With the music we rode, You were there by my side Down paths so well known - together As we came to the sea, felt the wind in our hair With sadness you paused. Suddenly I knew that you’d have to go, Your world was not mine Your eyes told me so Yet it was there I felt the cross roads of time And I wondered why? As we cast our gaze on the tumbling sea A vision came over me Of thundering hooves And beating wings With torn clouds above. Turning to go, heard you call out my name Like a bird in a cage spreading its wings to fly The old ways are lost you sang as you flew And I wondered why? The pounding sea is calling me home unto you The thundering waves are calling me home unto you |

When you walked into this room I shook my head and thought, "Oh great! This will be boring!" and I was wrong, which I rarely am. That was an excellent performance, you showed a great personality in your voice and you were confident, great vocal range. You've got the whole package, dear. Its a yes from me. Best audition so far.

I'm guessing that I made it because it was 2 out of three. Same voice, but I will be singing Matchbox 20's song 3 A.M.
she say it’s cold outside and she hands me my grey cape she’s always worried about things like that she says it’s all gonna end and it might as well be my fault and she only sleeps when it’s raining and she screams and her voice is straining (yells ) (chorus) she says love it’s 3 am I must be lonely (Yeah)when she says baby well I can’t help but be scared of it all sometimes says the rain’s gonna wash away I believe it she’s got a little bit of something, dear Elrond it’s better than nothing and in her elvishly beautiful world she believes that she’s got it all she swears the moon won't hang quite as high as it used to and she only sleeps when it’s raining and she sings and her voice is straining (chorus) she believes that life is made up of all the elder days and the world has been stuck at three for days, and days she thinks that happiness is a gift that sits on her doorway but outside it’s stopped raining...... (chorus)

My name is Elempí and I'm from the Edge of Faerie. I got this invitation, you see, and well, it's like this: I think this song belongs to Bilbo. I'll be singing Life's Been Good by Bilbo Walsh. (Pop rock; Joe Walsh voice)
I earned a Dwarf's wealth, forget its price Didn't never get it, they tell me it's nice I live in Rivendell, stare at the walls I have a minstrel play all my songs They think I'm crazy but I have a good time I'm just looking for words so I can make a good rhyme Life's been good to me so far My pricey waistcoat cost one-eighty-five I lost my Ring which barely left me alive I have a pony, ride on its back I live with Elves in case I'm attacked I write some poetry, Strider can't wait He helps me with parts, tells me I'm great So I got me an old chair, to sit in the Fire Hall But I end up sleeping here by the wall Lucky I'm sane after all I've been through (I'm just an old fool......”He's no fool”) I can't complain but sometimes I still do Life's been good to me so far I go to luncheons, sometimes until four It's hard to leave when you can't find the door It's tough to handle good fortune and fame All these Elves are so different, I haven't changed They say I'm aging; and it takes all my time (Everybody say “Bilbo”..... “Baggins”) I keep on rhyming till the day I die Life's been good to me so far yeah, yeah, yeah |

Eleven people had been choosen to advance to the Hall of Fire by the time the judges moved on to Annúminas. There they came to the understanding that the city had been abandoned for at least two thousand years. Disturbed about how geographically out of date they were, all three made a "long" -but, stunningly, brief- journey to Edoras where many musical suprises awaited.

You don't need to sing again yet. Elempi You certainly bring some much needed maturity to this contest. You have a steady voice and though it may not be the best voice, you definately show talent in age. I like the voice and I think you've got a look to match it. Its a yes from me.

Hi, I'm Lhuna from the nearby Grey Havens. I'll be singing a song by some person named Kelly Clarkson, called Breakaway. Slightly marr- er, mutila- er, changed to fit the voice of Bill the Balrog, who, surprisingly, does NOT have a scary gruff voice.
(Dedicated to non-wingers everywhere ) *ehem* I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly I'll do what it takes til' I touch the sky And I'll make a wish Take a chance Make a change And break(dance) away Out of the darkness and into the sun And I will forget all the Orcs that I loathe I'll take a risk Take a chance Make a change And break(dance) away Dwellings with a hundred floors Entering Dwarf-fashioned doors Maybe I don't know where they'll take me but Gotta keep moving on, grooving on Fly away, break(dance) away I'll spread my wings And I'll learn how to fly Though it's not easy to prove - but I'll try I gotta take a risk Take a chance Make a change And break(dance) away Out of the darkness and into the sun And I will forget the place I come from I gotta take a risk Take a chance Make a change And break(dance) away, break(dance) away, break(dance) away Last edited by Lhunardawen; 04-06-2006 at 01:40 AM. |

Doing a song of such a level is a tough and challenging task but you pulled it off some-what-ish. It wasn't too bad a performance but it wasn't anything spectacular or something to remember either. Go home, brush up and then we'll see you in the next round. Its a yes.

Random Titles get musical
My name is Morai and I'm from Ithilien, I'll be singing a slightly murdered version of Mood Rings by Relient K. (Soft/punk rock; Frodo Voice)
We all know the elfs I am talking about, Well they are explosives and they are lighting And the only question's when they'll blow up And they'll blow uo; we know that without a doubt Cause they're those elfs, yeah you know those elf that let their desires get the best of them And I've contrived some sort of a plan to help the Race of Man Chorus: Let's get emotional elfs to all wear mood rings So we'll be tipped off, to when they're ticked off Cause we'll know just what they're plotting She's so witty but she doesn't always act that way Her moods out rolling on a ghost ship almost everyday She said to me that she's so strong that it's weakening (freaked out that it's calming) And all I said someone get that elf a mood ring If it's action you want then look no further They're like Middle Earth meets Man Meets Earth meets Ends of Our Lives And it just scares me how they get away with anger They'll frighten you then bat their eyes; those elven eyes that watch you sympathize (chorus) Cause when it's black (it) means watch your back because you're probably The first hobbit in the world right now she wants to see And when it's blue it means that you should go to Lorien and see And seek her out because she'll most likely agree And when it's green it simply means she is distressed And when it's clear it means she's completely emotionless (And that's alright I must confess) We all know the elfs that I am talking about She liked you yesterday but now it's today and she has to wash her mirror And it just figures that we'll never figure them out First she's pleasant then she's insane....at least she makes a lovely pair One Ring oh One Ring, oh tell me you will bring The key to unlock this mystery Of elves and their emotions Play it back in slow motion So I may understand the complex structure known as the elven mind

Very interesting song, it was different but still enjoyable. I say yes. Lhuna That was an amazing performance. That type of song fits your voice perfectly. Great job! You're moving to the next round. Morai I'm not to sure about that performance. You have an interesting voice but I don't think that song suited you very well. I'll say yes, but I hope to see something better from you in the next round, something more suiting to your voice.

Hi, I'm Kath and I'm going to sing something which I always thought fitted the way Frodo must have been feeling some of the time in the years between returning to the Shire and going to the Grey Havens.
Midnight, Not a sound from the outside. Has the moon lost her memory? She is smiling alone. In the firelight, the withered leaves collect at my feet And the wind begins to moan. Memory, All alone in the moonlight. I can smile at the old days, I was still whole then. I remember the time I knew what happiness was, Let the memory live again. Every oil lamp seems to beat a fatalistic warning. Some one mutters and an oil lamp gutters, And soon it will be morning. Daylight, I must wait for the sunrise. I must think of a new life, And I mustn't give in. When the dawn comes tonight will be a memory too, And a new day will begin. Burnt out ends of smoky days, The stale cold smell of morning. The oil lamp dies, another night is over, Another day is dawning. Touch me, It's so easy to leave me, All alone with the memory, Of my days in the sun, If you touch me you'll understand that happiness was, Look a new day, has begun.

Hi, I'm Estel; the only one mind you, pay no attention to those lame immitations, & I'll be singing Papercut by Linkin Park [hardish rock?/in the voice of Smeagol (with Gollum providing the screaming as needed )].
Why does it feel like night today? Something in here's not right today. Why am I so uptight today? Paranoia's all I got left. I don't know what stressed me first, Or how the pressure was fed. But I know just what it feels like, To have a voice in the back of my head. Like a face that I hold inside, A face that awakes when I close my eyes; A face watches every time I lie, A face that laughs every time I fall. (And watches everything) So I know that when it's time to sink or swim, That the face inside is hearing me; Right beneath my skin. It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back, It's like a whirlwind inside of my head; It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within, It's like a Wheel of Fire is right beneath my skin! I know I've got a face in me, Points out all my mistakes to me. You've got a face on the inside too and, Your paranoia's probably worse. I don't know what set me off first, But I know what I can't stand. Everybody acts like the fact of the matter is, I can't add up to what you can but Everybody has a face that they hold inside, A face that awakes when I close my eyes; A face watches every time they lie, A face that laughs every time they fall. (And watches everything) So you know that when it's time to sink or swim, That the face inside is watching you too; Right inside your skin. It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back, It's like a whirlwind inside of my head; It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within, It's like a Wheel of Fire is right beneath my skin! The face inside is right beneath your skin. The face inside is right beneath your skin. The face inside is right beneath your skin. The sun goes down, I feel the light betray me. The sun goes down, I feel the light betray me. The sun I feel the light betray me! The sun I feel the light betray me! It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back, It's like a whirlwind inside of my head; It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within, It's like a Wheel of Fire is right beneath my skin! It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back, It's like a whirlwind inside of my head; It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within, It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within, It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within, It's like a Wheel of Fire is right beneath my skin! |

<----The beer seems appropriate for this song
*A young, rather stout female Hobbit with curly hair and freckles steps up to the microphone.*
Hello, I'm Oromin from Bywater. I will be singing the popular Buckland folk tune Wreck of the Arnor Queen, based on The Wreck Of The Athens Queen, by Stan Rogers. It's a very fun a bouncy song that pays tribute to the fine pastime of drunken salvaging. (Folk tune; happy Alto voice) We were drinking down to Maggot's house When first we heard the blow It seemed to come from Ripper Rock So boldly forth we go And, sure enough, a rusty tub Could just be barely seen As her stern was high up in the air We made out "Arnor Queen" Oh, the lovely Arnor Queen Now boys, may I remind you, There's a bottle left inside So let us go and have a few And wait until low tide And if the river's not claimed her When the glasses are licked clean We will then set forth some dories, lads, And see what can be seen On the lovely Arnor Queen Some songs and old tall stories then To help to pass the time Nor could a single bottle Keep us all until low tide And so it was before we left The house we were at sea And I scarcely can remember How we made the Arnor Queen Oh, the lovely Arnor Queen Oh the waves inside me belly Were as high as those outside And though I'm never seasick, I lost dinner overside T'was well there was no crew to save For we'd have scared 'em green We could scarcely keep ourselves From falling off the Arnor Queen Oh, the lovely Arnor Queen Well, Maggot goes straight down below And comes up with a cow "Hello", I said, "and what would you Be wantin' with that now? "You'll never take a cow home In a dory on such seas!" "Well me son," says he, "I've always fancied Fresh cream in mint tea On the lovely Arnor Queen." I headed for the galley, then, 'Cause I was gettin' dry And glad I was to get there quick For what should I espy? Oh what a shame it would have been For to lose them all at sea Forty cases of the best Green Dragon Ale I've ever seen Oh, the lovely Arnor Queen I loaded twenty cases, boys, Then headed for the shore Unloaded them as quick as that And then pulled back for more Bolger was headin' for the shore Though he could scarce be seen Under near two hundred chickens And a leather couch of green Oh, the lovely Arnor Queen So here's to all good salvagers Likewise to Ripper Rock And to Green Dragon ale of which Now we have much stock We eat a lot of chicken And sit on a couch of green And we wait for Ripper Rock To claim another Arnor Queen Oh, the lovely Arnor Queen

I actually liked that performance. It wasn't too bad and I guess you may just have a shot at winning if you practice. Practice is the key, it won't make you perfect but nobody other than I can ever be perfect. Its a yes from me. William Read the rules again, you've left out a lot.

Oh My!
Ladies and gentlemen, we have for you, performing live tonight none other than Sleepy Ranger! Lets give him a hand people!
Sleepy grins and walks onto the stage along with the rest of his band. "Alright people, the first we're playing for you is 'The Hobbit Rhapsody' by Queen. It'll have a variety of styles and I shall be performing in the voice of Sam Gamgee." The Hobbit Rhapsody Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide, No escape from reality Open your eyes, Look up to the skies and see, I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy Because I'm easy come, easy go, Little high, little low Any way the wind blows doesn't really matter to me, to me Rosie, just killed an orc, Put a pan against his head Heaved my hand, now he's dead Rosie, life had just begun But now I've gone and thrown it all away Rosie, ooh, Didn't mean to make you cry If I'm not back again this time tomorrow carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters Too late, my time has come Sends shivers down my spine, body's aching all the time Goodbye, ev'rybody, I've got to go Gotta leave you all behind and face the quest Rosie, ooh, I don't want to die I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all I see a little silhouetto of a hobbit Smeagol, Smeagol, will you do the fandango Thunderbolt and lightning, very, very fright'ning me (Gollum.) Gollum. (Gollum.) Gollum, Gollum figaro Magnifico. I'm just a poor hobbit and everybody loves me He's just a rich hobbit from a rich family Spare him his life from this monstrosity Easy come, easy go, will you let me go Oh Shelob! No, we will not let you go (Let him go!) Oh Shelob! We will not let you go (Let him go!) Oh Shelob! We will not let you go (Let me go.) Will not let you go (Let me go.) Will not let you go. (Let me go.) Ah No, no, no, no, no, no, no. (Oh mama mia, mama mia.) Mama mia, let me go The Witch-King has a nazgul put aside for me, for me, for me So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye So you think you can love me and leave me to die Oh, baby, can't do this to me, baby Just gotta get out, just gotta get right outta here Destroying the ring really matters, Anyone can see Destroying the ring really matters Destroying the ring really matters to me Any way the wind blows --- "Next we'll be performing One Ring (Wonderwall) by Oasis. Light rock, we'll try and cut this as smooth as possible. The voice shall resemble that of Aragorn." Wonderwall Today is gonna be the day That they're gonna throw it back to Mt. Doom By now you should've somehow Realized what you gotta do I don't believe that anybody Feels the way I do about you now Backbeat the word was on the citadel That the fire in Barad-Dur is out I'm sure you've heard it all before But you never really had a fear I don't believe that anybody feels The way I do about you now And all the roads we have to walk along are winding And all the lights that lead us there are blinding There are many things that I Would like to say to you I don't know how Because maybe You're gonna be the one who corrupts me, And after all, You're my One Ring! Today was gonna be the day But they'll never throw it back to you By now you should've somehow Realized what you're not to do I don't believe that anybody Feels the way I do About you now And all the roads that lead to you were winding And all the lights that light the way are blinding There are many things that I would like to say to you I don't know how I said maybe You're gonna be the one who corrupts me And after all You're my One Ring I said maybe You're gonna be the one who corrupts me And after all You're my One Ring Said maybe You're gonna be the one that corrupts me You're gonna be the one that corrupts me You're gonna be the one that corrupts me "Thank you very much ladies and gentle-men! Feel free to drop in any song requests and Sleepy Ranger's Band shall try their best to do it justice. Now, back to Middle-Earth Idol."

After pulling out the wool (which had been so deeply shoved into their ears at the beginning of the preformance), the judges were physically stunned by Sleepy Cowell's "yes" to William. Now they had 15 contestants promised a trip to the Hall of Fire, and another..er "con..tender".. in Limbo.
Will Wilwa and Glirdy ever get their hearing back? What kind of quips can we expect from Sleepy about this? Find out when we return... after this message from the Mount Zoom Challenge.

Hi, I'm Anguirel and I'll be performing Maedhros Dylan's smash hit soul-wail Shelter from the Oath, performed on a Noldorin harp with several percussionists in the background representing different Sons of Feanor. Without further ado:
'Twas in another Sun-Age, one of toil and blood When Kinslayin' was common and the road was full of mud I came in from the Anfauglith, handless and friendless both. "Come in," he said, "I'll give you shelter from the Oath." And if I pass this way again, you can rest assured I'll always do my best for him, on that I give my word In a world of steel-eyed death, with Valar paralysed by sloth "Come in," he said, "I'll give you shelter from the Oath." Not a sword was slung between us, there was little risk involved Everything up to that point had been left unresolved. To rescue and to heal valiant Fingon isn’t loth. "Come in," he said, "I'll give you shelter from the Oath." I was burned out from Utumno, buried in the hail, Chained about and tortured an' hung out o’er the trail, Hunted like a Petty-Dwarf, as they later quoth. "Come in," he said, "I'll give you shelter from the Oath." Suddenly I turned around and he was standin' there He saw my iron bracelet and to defy them he’d dare He flew right up on Thorondor, without some feeble moth "Come in," he said, "I'll give you shelter from the Oath." Now there's a wall between us, somethin' there's been lost I took too much for granted, and Ulfang double-crossed. Just to think of his deep cloven helm inspires sorrow’s growth. "Come in," he’d said, "I'll give you shelter from the Oath." Well, Curufin works on hard knives and Celegorm rides a mount But nothing really matters now, it's doom alone that counts And Amras, Amrod, hunters, they felt futile wroth. "Come in," he said, "I'll give you shelter from the Oath." I've heard babes lost in woods wailin' like a mournin' dove And Caranthir in anger, stranded without love. Do I understand your question, Elf, our hopeless plighted troth? "Come in," he’d said, "I'll give you shelter from the Oath." In a little hilltop fortress, Maglor and I grew cold I bargained for a Union and I caught us in Doom’s fold. I wanted independence but I got me no Arbroath. "Come in," he’d said, "I'll give you shelter from the Oath." Well, I'm livin' in the grey Halls but I'm bound to cross the line Beauty cut me sorely, when I tried to make it mine. If I could only turn back the clock to a fiery, headstrong youth "Come in," he said, "I'll give you shelter from the Oath."

Such great quality voices. Your songs were perfect for your voice. It's a yes to both of you.

Hey I'm Lote from Mirkwood. This is a song sung by Frodo to the Ring. It's based on Your My Best Friend by Queen.
Your My Worst Friend Eww you make me sick Whatever this world can give to me It's you that takes it away Eww you make me sick now ringy Eww you make me sick Ooh you're the worst friend that I ever had I've been with you such a long time You're my badside and I want you to know That my feelings are true I really can’t stand you Oh you're my worst friend Eww you make me sick Ooh I've been wandering round But I still come back to you In rain or shine You've taken over me ring I'm happy at home (away from you) You're my worst friend Eww you make me sick Whenever this world is cruel to me I got you to make it worse Eww you make me sick now ringy Eww you make me sick You're the one ring When things turn out bad You know I'll always blame you You're the one ring And I hate the things I really hate the things that you do You're my worst friend Eww you make me sick I'm happy at home (away from you) You're my worst friend Oh you're my worst friend Eww you make me sick You you're my worst friend

I agree, you did a wonderful job. Great presentation, perfect song for your voice. You had everything working for you with that performance, very refreshing. Its a yes from me. Lotte That was a very hard song to sing and I wouldn't really expect someone to sing it in the auditions. I think you made a mess of it, you were all over the place and now I don't mean to be rude but I don't think you had any idea what you were doing, did you even practice? Its a no from me. Glirdy?
