ok some guesses then: -Nargothrond and Gondolin were hidden from melkor for a while, while himring wasnt? -Nargothrond and Gondolin had only one proper way in, while himring had more? both of these are guesses as i know virtually nothing about himring [ May 07, 2003: Message edited by: tom bombariffic ]
