All went on a journey with one other person
Beren with Luthien Aragorn with Gandalf Turgon with Finrod Turin with Beleg Merry with Pippen Eormer with?? Don’t know, but he was a likeable person so I think he must had some friends who would enjoy camping with him

Has it got something to do with them all having killed someone or something? Orcs, perhaps?

Is it that they are all war veterans?
Beren-fought with the dwarves at Sarn Athrad. Turin-he fought with a bunch of orcs I'm guessing. Aragorn-Helm's Deep, Minas Tirith, in front of the black gate(would that be 2nd Battle of Dagorlad?) Eomer-same as Aragorn. Turgon-died at the battle at Gondolin. Merry-2nd battle of Dagorlad with Aragorn Pippen-Minas Tirith

Lawks! All I can think of is that they all lived in ME and they all fought with Orcs.
I think that it may be time for another hint ...

They all had hereditary authority over people?
Beren- would have been the leader of Barahir's people if any had been left Turin- would have been Lord of Dor-Lomin Aragorn- was King of Gondor and Arnor Eomer- was King of Rohan Turgon- was King of Gondolin and a prince of the Noldoli Merry- was Master of Buckland Pippin- was Thain of the Shire Elros- was King of Numenor Luthien- was the daughter of Thingol and barring exceptional circumstances (which happened) she probably should have inherited his kingdom... (ooh, it's a stretch...) Amroth- was Lord of Lorien *grimaces* that's messy. Best I can do. Sophia

Maybe swimming is the answer or water.
Beren went over the sea when he died Turin brother of Nienor who jumped in the water and died. Aragorn came to the rescue with his ships Eomer married a princes of dol amroth (dol amroth lay by the sea and they had a crest with a silver swan on it) Turgon was ordered by Ulmo to make a armor and so Merry and Pippen had a Ent drink and with made them grow Elros went to Numenor over the sea by ship Luthien came to reclaim Beren in Valinor so she could marry him Amroth did go for a swim and was never seen again.

Hey Lindolirian you were the cloesest. It was that they all died. Or they all became mortal at one point with an exception of Turgon and died.

Aragorn
Barahir Thingol That's all that I can think of for now. If I find any others who fit the description I shall post them as hints if needed.

They were all given a famous piece of jewellery is really all I can come up with!
Aragorn was given the Elfstone. Barahir was given the ring of Felagund. Thingol was given the Silmaril. I'm sure this is wrong.

You were so close. Since I didn't give very many people, I'll give it to you. It was that they all received something from important that came from Valinor. According to the Unfinished Tales, the Elessar was taken to Valinor after the First Age and brought back by Olorin.

They all drowned.
Primula Brandybuck in a boating accident on the River Brandywine. Niniel Nienor when she jumped into the Teiglin. Arvedui swimmming out to the Gondorian boat coming to rescue him in the icy bay of Forochel. Earnil I in a storm off the coast of Gondor after capturing Umbar. Edit: To add explanations. They were all some sort of nobility?
Erendis was a noble lady of Númenor who became Queen to Tar-Aldarion, Sauron was a Maia and was in charge of all kinds of places at times, Ar-Gimilzôr was the twenty-third King of Númenor, the father of Tar-Palantir and grandfather of Ar-Pharazôn. I also have no clue who Tal-Elmar is. Perhaps they were all evil in some way? Sauron obviousy, Ar-Gimilzor was an enemy of the Faithful and the Elf-friends.
