All guesses are incorrect.
Note: all clues have cryptic elements - I think.

Thanks for the ALT 0240 ð, Nil!
Edit: Found also ALT 0222 Þ and ALT 0254 þ 6) Ninquelótë, "White Blossom"? If so, then my guess is the Ivrin for the password.

No right guesses, although Celebrian was very close with her guess for #6.
HINTS (for what they're worth): 2. Person. Silmarillion. Introduced as the son of a more famous character. 3. An obscure location. The Shire. 4. Person. 5. Person. 6. Celebrian is on the right track, but try a later specimen.

Right general area, but more obscure (and must fit the cryptic clues)

More obscure than Little Delving - it's near some awesome uplands.
And #5 is a person.

Welcome, Evisse.
Dwaling, a village in the Eastfarthing near the Hills of Scary, is correct. Re-posting: 1. Isenmouthe -- Sounds like a cooling cure for drouth in a dead land. 2. Ibun -- Leave one small bread for the second-last of his kind. 3. Dwaling -- Un-tardy dwarf, with Gondor’s first, visits remote village. 4. Seems that 100 well prepared Bree-men were scattered and killed. 5. Alliterative lines describe legend of the faithful friend. 6. Nimloth -- Elegant court dweller wore white blossom for 30 centuries.

#2 is Ibun, son of Mim, the last of the Petty-Dwarves.
(one = I; small bread = bun)

One out of two ain't bad
Ibun is right, Aghan (never heard of him/that) is not.
Of the remaining two, #5 is very easy, #4 is a bit tricky.

The clue is worded poorly, but refers to a person, not the lay in which he is featured.

Not Daeron. "Faithful friend" is the straight clue. There's a very obvious cryptic clue in there.

Red herrings and hithlain! Arg! #4 has me stumped still. All I can think of at the moment is the Scouring of the Shire, which is not a scrambled person (perhaps many persons scrambling, hah!).
Is the password CARL COTTON, Nib's ID?

Not Lenwë or Boromir. Two words in the riddle are straight clues. The answer is, as I said, only one person. Three elements of the clue comprise the scramble.
As for the Password, follow the clues and you'll find it.

No. I'll refine the hint: Bree-men and killed are straight clues; three elements comprise the scramble, and the answer is one person.

I am afraid that I am going to have to close this thread as it is way over the maximum thread length.
Turambar, would you mind starting a new thread and re-posting the rules of the game together with your current conundrum? Thanks. ![]()
