Ravenhill is at the southwest corner of the lonley mountain, about five hours march from the Front Gate. From the gate a road goes along the left edge of the stream, then to a bridge and steep stairs, from which a path leads up to the hill and the watch post on top. Good enough? There is a stream that runs from Ephel Duath to Anduin and at one point, it drops in a waterfall. There used to be another inlet of water that went underground and spilled out a cave that opened halfway down the cliff, but the Gondorians sealed this off, thus forcing all of the water to go over the falls on top. They had cut an entrance into the cave from the ground above the cliff. These stairs led into the hollow area that the original falls came out of. The only other exit was to dive out of the opening, thought the falls and into the basin far below.

Measure the distance in miles from Halifirien to Eilenach. Multiply that number by two. This new number of miles will be known as n. Travel n miles south by southwest from the peak of Cloudyhead. Name the previous owner of this place.

My guess is the the place your're looking for is Angrenost or Isengard - Previous owner would be either The Kings of Gondor or Beren who surrendered the keys to Saruman or Saruman himself according to which point in time you're asking the question.

Take the distance, in a direct line, from 'The Last Bridge' to Isengard. Then take that distance from Minas Tirith and go West by North West - An event took place here... four days after that event something happend to Frodo - What?

The event was the Battle of the Hornburg at Helm's Deep and four days later, Frodo was taken by Faramir to Henneth Annûn.

Trace the travels of the One Ring from creation to destruction. By the way, don't worry about getting too in depth during the Journey with Frodo. I think thats just about a given. <font size=1 color=339966>[ 8:08 PM December 09, 2003: Message edited by: Lindolirian ]

Created in Sammath Naur c. SA1600 -> We must assume Sauron wore it at all times from that time untill he lost it. That means that it was with him at his campain against Eriador, later he brought it to Numenor, and we do not need to bother with how a spirit carries it with him back to Mordor , where he wore it in the Battle of the Last Alliance, where it was cut from his finger by Isildur. Isildur brought it first to Minas Anor where he instructed his nephew Meneldil, and wrote a scroll conserning the One Ring. One year later on his way to Rivendell and later Arnor, Isildur, with his company and The Ring was ambushed near the Gladden Fields by orcs from the Misty Mountains. Isildur trying to escape swam the Anduin, The Ring slipped from his finger and was lost in the river. C 2500 years later The One Ring was found by Deagol, who was murdered by his cousin Smeagol, who stole The Ring. Smeagol, untill he was shunned lived in a small village of Stores, somewath north of The Gladden. Being shunned Smeagol hid himself under the Misty Mountains where he stayed untill he met Bilbo in TA 2941. Bilbo, by chance, found The Ring, brought it with him on his journey through Mirkwood to Erebor - and the same way back, over the mountains, to Rivendell and then to the Shire, where The Ring stayed for the next 67 years till Frodo set out. The Ring, on it's final journey went this way: Hobbiton -> Buckland -> The Old Forrest -> The house of Tom Bombadil -> The Barrow Downs -> The Pranching Pony in Bree -> Around Chetwood -> through the Midgewater Marshes -> Amon Sul -> Rivendell -> Hollin -> Moria -> Lorien -> Parth Galen -> Emyn Muil -> The Dead Marshes -> Within sight of the Morannon -> Ithillien -> Henneth Annûn -> The Cross Roads -> Torech Ungol -> Tower of Cirith Ungol -> Morgai -> Carach Angren -> Mount Doom -> Sammath Naur - The END... Phewwww.... Sorry about the hastyness in typing...

HOW FAR IS IT FROM THE TOWER OF CIRITH UNGOL TO ORODRUIN??? A little fun for the movie makers... Did anybody else notice that when Frodo and Sam first saw it that it looked like it was about a mile maybe mile and a half away?

Using this as reference I would say that the distance was roughly 15-18 leagues... On maps the distance looks more or less the same.
