I see your point, Lindil, and while maybe not boring (at least for an instant [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img] ) it was ethereal and funeral-like. Maybe I'm "fallen" too, but I would not be content to sing in such a way on the heights of Taniquetil. I would be more at home fighting and singing with the Noldor.

The Noldor were greatest in skill and knowledge (and probably in speech and singing too), if not in wisdom, and "in many things they soon surpassed their teachers (the Valar).
