What else can I sing the praises of this week except for Elendil's mighty helmet? The wings of which will surely carry the tall ships and tall kings, three times three, divided by two, add a couple, carry the one, straight to Middle Earth? Earendil wishes that Vingelot could take him as high as Elendil's Helm can take Elendil himself. Well were Bronwyn & Arondil & company to fear the shadow of the Oncoming Helm, the mere rumor of which is enough to make Morgoth himself quake in his unspecified footwear. If ever Gorthol of Bar-en-Danwedh were to catch sight of the Helmendil well then he might cry. And well he might. And so well might we all.
*is the third ruler Miriel or Isildur? Is Elendil technically a king yet? The world may never know...

Episode 5 was by far the best. I loved the initial introduction to Celebrimbor, but something was missing. I realized Celebrimbor didn't appear like he's ever wielded a hammer in his life. He didn't look like a renowned Elven smith. I needed to see him actually forge something to truly appreciate the character. Well, Episode 5 delivered!
The construction of the mithril tanning beds, radiating enough silmaril light to soak all elves in it, was a stroke of genius. I was wary of the "mad scientist" Celebrimbor, but you have to be a bit mad to be a true craftsman.

They should have called this episode "Happy Families" because of all the reunions - Halbrand with his wife and child, Bronwyn and Theo - Galadriel with her husband Celebrimbadar - Evil Barliman Butterbur and the Queen of Numenor - Elendil with his clones (clones are family, right?) - and Ossė and Aulė. The slo-mo shots were too repetitive, and they could have chosen a better cover of "Chariots of Fire", but at least the lens flares were tasteful.

The creativity of others helps me not take the show seriously.
