Assuming one was going due east on the road over the Misty Mountains, I would say maybe a week on horseback. Its been my experience that trying to cross mountains in early spring usually has several obstacles, like if its early spring in the lower elevations, it still is being winter in the high country. Even if it was warming in the high country, you have obstacles like high water from snowmelt, washouts, fallen rocks and trees, etc.

Tuor in Gondolin has been trapped in the Barrow!

Found on a site called Cartographers Guild:
Quote:
On Roads / trails
Level or rolling terrain: 40
Hilly terrain: 30
Mountainous terrain: 20

Off-Road (or unkempt trails etc)
Level/rolling grasslands: 30
Hilly grasslands: 25
Level/rolling forest/thick scrub: 20
Very hilly forest/thick scrub: 15
For an Eriador type country it would seem about 20 mmiles a day
(without incident) is reasonable. Since it's over 450 miles for the distance, some
over difficult mountain terrain, then start with about 3 weeks, but if it's
fanfiction there would be obstacles, so probably at least a month.

It didn't take the fellowship that long on foot and with the Moria detour. More likethree weeks. Elladan and Elrohir , ade the return trip in under two amd since they were longer away than those who went to Rhosgobel that must have include a bit of time ither helpingmAragorn and the Dunedaim scout or catching up with Grannie.
