Hi all, I shall make my first post about my introduction to the books. Time 1967, long weekend before finals at small lib-arts school mid Pen. Recieve in mail from estranged aunt all 4 books previous weekend. Read the Hobbit leasurely through the week. Then on friday began LOTR. Didn't stop. Crashed in the morning but continued few hours latter. Finished the books Monday morning and was 15 - 20 miniuts late to first exame The Only Time I ever did that. I am a relitively slow reader and I tend to subvocalize and concetrate so hard that I am "there". Absolutely no skipping or skimming for me. As a rule I do very little rereading so the movie was wanderful because the details had faded enough to be no distraction. Looking forward to sharing ideas. Aelith (whos elvis translation terns out to be Dinoreiel)
