If you do not have a -> (C) by one of your players, it means you did not choose a captain (or that you did choose a captain and I missed it). You can tell me who your captain is right away if you wish for credit in this round, but only if the player you name has not played yet in this round (i.e. you can't look at the results and then choose a captain).

For the future- when you make changes to your team next round or in later rounds, please copy and paste your team from the previous round's master list (in this case it would be this post), and then make the changes you want by voting in/out substitutions Werewolf style. Example- you wish to kick Phantom off your roster and add Sally...

And then beneath that (and whatever other changes you made) you would repost your team roster. In the first round of trades this system is a little tedious due to the fact that there are unlimited trades, but in future rounds when you are only allowed so many substitutions, the voting style (++, --) makes it easy to keep track of exactly how many of your allotted trades you have used.

And before anyone asks, if you switch out Sally for Phantom and then decide to switch out Sally for Fea, that only counts as one trade (Phantom for Fea) since that was the end result.

Heh. I always have Miriel... always, I think from start to the end (and tend to have Nerdanel & Aredhel as well, with Huan) but Tar Minastir was a nice surprise.

Not that I would have won the competition ever.

And I think I have never taken Fëanor no matter how many points he would make (actually I think I had him for one game last year to just get me few points needed but I'm not sure about it). It's nothing against Fëanor. On the contrary. I kind of think he's one of the most fascinating characters in all the Tolkien legendarium, but as everyone else always has him in their teams I have decided to play differently on him.

But this year my team's name is Noggportunistics, so maybe I'll pick him to my team later?

Here's how we do this.

tp runs the matches with his PC(?)game and doesn't participate in the phantasy-game.

We (Boro, Skip and me) are the writers of the match-reports (with tp) having two groups each - and later dealing the play-off games amongst ourselves.

We writers try to do our own picks for the next round of games as early as possible so that as soon as our phantasy teams are updated for the next round tp will send us the results of our games. Thus we have a few days time to write the reports up (while some of you others still think of your choices for the next round). Then when everyone has made their changes - or a deadline for it has been reached - we start pouring in the match-reports.

I would also encourage anyone of you to come up with your own blog, newspaper, net-site, whatever, to bring your own view to the games in. There is no monopoly here, or a classification that only X and Y can write things in the actual Arda Cup thread. Anyone can write there!

The only rule is that one should keep all the talk about the phantasy game played amongst us in this thread and leave the "AC 10 thread" only to posts concerning the Arda Cup 2010, like it was the actual tournament taking place.

So let me see you contributing there as well! Interviews of players, speculation of the games to come, background articles about some teams, speculation about certain groups or teams... whatever you come by.

Only tp has all the knowledge...

All of us others write there with as much information you others have (we just get the results of our matches earlier - but only after we have committed our own phantasy-team picks). And maybe, if you delve into it and show enthusiasm, tp will suggest you to write the actual match-reports at some point of the tournament - if you'd like to do that, of course. Nothing's mandatory here.

But I think there is room in the writing team for anyone interested about it, so just come forwards actively.

And anyway: the more people write their own stuff there in the "AC10" thread, the merrier it will be.
