Was he responsible for his actions? If you believe he was truly cursed then no he was not. What were his intentions? I think you need to look at this heart. I think he is the most misunderstood of all Tolkien's characters. Everybody loves Boromir but when an actual great comes along we don't like him.

Boromir's character was consistently likable until he tried to take the Ring from Frodo, and even then he redeemed himself by protecting Merry and Pippin. Turin, however, was consistently stupid. I don't like to look at people's hearts, that's up to God. It's not what a person is inside that defines him, it's what he does. It doesn't matter though, Turin's dead!
