Sting

I don't know if this one has been touched upon, but I rather like Ernil i Pheriannath, for more than just the sounds of it. I'm a hopeless Pippin fancier!
Also, I am probably not the one to hand out Quenya lessons, having had only one, but as I recall, a second syllable gets the stress if there is a double consonant between it and the third syllable, so I always say it "I-SIL-dur" . I guess that would also make it El-ESS-ar, wouldn't it? It has been a little while since I actually looked at this rule, so correct me if I'm wrong!

Been away a little while...good to be here!
Cheers,
Lyta

Ondolinde, Brandywine, Gildor Inglorion, Glorfindel, Alqualonde, Lalaith, and Laiquendi. I love just saying those things out loud. Maybe that's why people look at me so strangely...

1420! Tongue rolling

I just love names that sort of "roll" off the tongue, and sound so ellegant. As someone already said, Osgiliath is really funny to say. Some of my others are...

Imrahil
Celeborn
Cirith Ungol
Minas Tirith
Iarwain-ben-adar
Ghan-Buri-Ghan, in fact all pukel-men talk lol, with the "woses," "pukel-men," and "gorgun" is just fun to say lol.
Ecthelion
Remmirath
Radbug (great name for an orc)
And most of the dwarf names are fun, oin, gloin, balin, fili, kili...etc

My all time favorite word would have to be....
Mount Taniquetil, just rolls off so beautifully.

My favourite name is the one I have, Thorongil. It just sounds kind of mighty. Like a great eagle soaring under the stars. I like it.

1420! Aragorn, naaa, nicknames yes.

I don't care much for the name "Aragorn," but it's his nicknames I like. Mentioned above, Thorongil is a good one, Elessar, Telcontar, Estel. Bill Ferny insulted him call him Stick-at-naught Strider, which is one of my favorite insult names lol.

1420! Bear with me

You'll have to bear with me I just thought of some more, there's just too many good names to say.

Wetwang, just hilarious name all together
dwimmerlaik
khazad-dum
kheled-zaram
galadhrim
Caras Galadhon
Hyarmendacil
Most of the numenorean kings names, Tar-Telperien, Tar-Minyatur..etc.
Eomer's swords Guthwine, and Theoden's sword Herugrim (far better names then Anduril)
Any of the orc names, Radbug, Lugdush, Ugluk, Grishnakh, Snaga.
Tharkun
Tarks

When I think of more I will get back to you lol.

Encaitare is a guest of Tom Bombadil.
As I think the first poster said, Gildor Inglorion is truly a wonderful name. Other names/words I like are Bauglir, Laurelindorinan, Eressea, and let's not forget alallalallarumbalindorkamandaburume! (Entish for "hill") I think I've got it right, anyway; I'm going on memory here!

But if I was Bernard Hill I would make everyone call me Mr. Alallalalla etc. just to irritate them! Bah-hah!

and it's not a Middle-earth name but I still like the word: Olori
Actually, if you add a 'n' at the end it would be Olorin...Gandalf's name from when he was in Valinor.

My favourites are Morgul, Elu, Celeborn, Celebrimbor, Findekano, Maitimo and Silmarien.

Isowen has just left Hobbiton.
I like the sound of Rohan, Mirkwood (sounds creepy) Minas Morgul, Stoors, Isildur, nazgul, fangorn and the westmarch. Mostly because they are all very original names and not at all typical of ordinary fantasy tales. I myself have thought of many middle-earth type names but none compare to those mentioned. I think the place names in the shire could be more original, such as "old forest"!
