I'd like to think it's our wisdom and sterling use of rethorics that makes us like Saruman.
The Legolas likeness I assign to good looks. ![]() Scrolling up I noticed that Morthoron is 97% like Sauruman. That is a bit scary. Oh well, they say that chimpanzees share 97 % of our human DNA, and as far as I know no-one ever claimed Morth is a great ape because of that.

Arwen of Rivendell
77% Legolas 77% Saruman the White 76% Boromir 73% Frodo Baggins 53% Aragorn 53% Samwise Gamgee 53% Galadriel 53% Peregrin Took (Pippin) 50% Gandalf the Grey 47% Meriadoc Brandybuck (Merry) 43% Gimli 40% Gollum 30% Eowyn of Rohan 17% Ok... took that thing twice, and still, I'm Arwen? And Legolas?! Legolas? We don't even know too much of his character!!! But I like the Saruman and Boromir bits.

Well... *ahem* I just retook it and came out as 97% Saruman this time myself .
Clearly, this test is hopelessly inaccurate!

Nah, I think you just don't want to be ranked with Saruman... *snickers and hurries away like a little kid*
But really, what is the basis of that thing? I can't believe they considered putting Legolas, considering how that not much developed his character is compared to, say, Frodo. Or was it because of the questions that asked if you think yourself tall, elegant, and an archer?

My new result:
You Scored as Frodo Baggins Frodo Baggins 70% Arwen of Rivendell 63% Saruman the White 63% Gandalf the Grey 63% Gimli 60% Gollum 60% Aragorn 54% Boromir 53% Peregrin Took (Pippin) 53% Samwise Gamgee 50% Legolas 50% Meriadoc Brandybuck (Merry) 47% Galadriel 47% Eowyn of Rohan 40% I can understand why I'm Frodo, but the rest of it doesn't fit, really. PS. I think this thread should be moved to the "Middle-Earth Mirth" section because it is not a quiz in the same way as the Quiz Room quizzes. And this would probably also be enjoyed by people who never visit the Quiz Room.

I'm Gimli! It must be the "Axes are cool" and "I'm short compared to my friends" answers I gave.
I would consider myself most like to Eowyn, and she's my #2 at 70%. You Scored as Samwise
You're Samwise Gamgee! Samwise the brave is the most loyal friend that you could ever ask for. He'll be there for you through thick and thin, and be willing to do anything for you. Interesting...
Seeing this one pop up and checking back to have done this like two years ago I decided to give it a go again. And lay and behold! It was soo different! Well I was aware of making it a bit differently as I was marking the edge-grades more than the middle-ones which I always end up marking in this kind of a quizzes. But really, the results made an interesting change from the previous try while I don't think I have changed so much in such a short time. So I'm... (the previous results in brackets, followed by the difference) Frodo 77% (63%) = + 14% Gandalf 70% (63%) = +7% Saruman 63% (63%) = even! Arwen 63% (67%) = -4% Boromir 60% (50%) = +10% Samwise 53% (47%) = +6% Gollum 53% (43%) = +10% Galadriel 47% (30%) = +17% Aragorn 47% (54%) = -7% Merry 43% (37%) = +6% Pippin 40% (70%) = -30% Legolas 40% (67%) = -27% Eowyn 33% (47%) = -14% Gimli 20% (47%) = -27% So by taking more extreme views on matters makes me a lot more Galadriel and Frodo, and makes me less Pip, Legolas or Gimli? Whatever, it was a fun ten minutes anyway... Let's see how it will turn out on 2012?

If nothing else, it's an interesting way to make oneself wonder
![]() Here is my new one compared with my previous results, that is, from October 2007 and September 2008: Galadriel 83% (Still in lead... interestingly in my previous tries went through 83->90 and now back to 83, but always the first place!) Legolas 80% (Growing steadily. Used to be 63% for 3rd place -> 73% for 2nd place) Samwise Gamgee 64% (used to be 67% on both tries, originally for 2nd place) Arwen of Rivendell 63% (used to be 66% and 63%, originally for 3rd place after Sam) Frodo Baggins 63% (growing slowly, was 53% and 60%) Aragorn 57% (was 53% and 63%) Saruman the White 43% (Fascinating, this is a similar trend as with Galadriel. Used to be 43% -> 47%) Peregrin Took (Pippin) 43% (originally 47%, last time it randomly went to 70% but now it dropped back to "normal") Gandalf the Grey 37% (whoops, what a drop, used to be 40%, later 53%) Meriadoc Brandybuck (Merry) 34% (used to be steadily 37%) Gollum 30% (I am scared by the way how it grows, used to be 17%, 20%) Gimli 27% (used to be 17%) Boromir 27% (again a bit of a rollercoaster, went 30% -> 47%) Eowyn of Rohan 17% (similar, 10% -> 23%) Disappointment: Gandalf, Gollum. Quite happy with the, albeit slow, growth of Frodo; really interested about the reasons for the growth of Legolas. Interested about the "rollercoasters" (especially Pippin, Boromir).

So, after a year I took the quiz again and my results have somewhat changed although there are also some that have remained the same.
Quote:
Frodo Baggins 77% Boromir 73% Gimli 73% Eowyn of Rohan 70% Aragorn 70% Saruman the White 63% Gollum 63% Arwen of Rivendell 60% Peregrin Took (Pippin) 60% Gandalf the Grey 60% Samwise Gamgee 57% Legolas 53% Galadriel 50% Meriadoc Brandybuck (Merry) 33% Frodo's leap on the top of my list is more or less understandable since he has become one of my favourite characters only during the last year. I don't know if that's happened because I've found more Frodo-traits in me or if I've just unconsciously taken him for a role model now or whatever, but I don't really mind reminding him anyway. On the other hand, I'm also more like Boromir and Gimli than I used to be. I don't quite understand why Éowyn and Arwen scored that well since I don't think I remind either of them. Well, I have some of Éowyn's childish stubborness, but that's all. Also, compared to last year, Gollum's score is quite interesting. He used to be among those I remind the least, but now he has as many points as my third option had a year ago. ![]()

I lost Samwise & Arwen to Legolas and Pippin (resp. my Samwise percentage remained the same, but the others got more points), who still surprises me, now even more than the year before because he's among the top three. What's Pippin except the fact that he's "fool of a Took"? He's maybe young, cheerful, and silly... ah. I see. Okay, in that case I have no complaints. ![]() Otherwise, I can see slight growth (about 5-10%) with Aragorn, Gandalf (significant - he outrun Saruman), however the most with Éowyn who used to be the last (mere 10%) and now she outrun both Gimli and Gollum. And overall, the only person who lost some percentage was Arwen. Fine.

Of course I'm joking.
Or am I? *shifty eyes* I might re-take the test and see If I can be a 100 % like Arwen. That should be quite a challenge considering how little we know about her personality. Not now though...

Good quiz. I figure I got pretty much the average results, which should be pretty much right.
![]() Mm, mm... History books, though. I think I squeaked when I saw that question. Hmm.... I'm surprised that the Frodo scored higher than the Gimli on this.

Since I neglected to copy the full results list the last time I did this, I gave it another go, and:
You Scored as Gandalf the Grey Gandalf the Grey 73% Frodo Baggins 67% Galadriel 63% Aragorn 60% Samwise Gamgee 57% Arwen of Rivendell 47% Legolas 40% Gimli 37% Eowyn of Rohan 37% Meriadoc Brandybuck (Merry) 27% Boromir 20% Saruman the White 20% Peregrin Took (Pippin) 17% Gollum 7% Well... yeah, that's about the size of it, actually.

If there is any major suprises, then it is that Sam is not at the very bottom and that Gollum is so high on the list. Istari and Elves are my thing, not that I don't find human, hobbits and dwarves interesting. Rohan is also very interesting, but Theoden is the only character of Rohan that I find just a bit interesting. |

Somehow I wasn't all that surprised about what I scored as....although I didn't think it would be a tie......Actually I was hoping for Aragorn or Eowyn...the two that I personally think should be together.

So I've done this too at last and it turns out I'm...
*drumroll* Merry. Well yes, I can certainly live with that (must have been the "Nothing beats a good history book" ). Pippin comes second, and the rest of the Fellowship hobbits in the upper half as well, along with Legolas (what's that militant non-smoker doing there?), Gandalf (more like it, if a bit too flattering) and Arwen (where did that come from?). I'm certainly not much of a Boromir or Aragorn, and I do have a wee bit of Gollum in me (at least my wife says so). So yeah, fits.Meriadoc Brandybuck (Merry) 73% Peregrin Took (Pippin) 67% Legolas 63% Frodo Baggins 60% Gandalf the Grey 60% Arwen of Rivendell 57% Samwise Gamgee 57% Galadriel 53% Saruman the White 53% Boromir 53% Gimli 47% Gollum 44% Aragorn 43% Eowyn of Rohan 27%
