I was always thought of as odd for liking Tolkien in school, and I was always really hard pressed to find another person who liked it as much as I did (though when I did find one or two, it was like feeling as if you found a long-lost relative) Yet as soon as the movie came out, all of these Tolkien-lovers came out of the proverbial closet and made themselves known to the so-called "commoners". Plus, since the movie was deemed "cool", people decided to give the books a try, even if before it was deemed as being too nerdy (gasp!) and therefore shunned. By the condition of this thread and the comments therein, it seems like the movie was the most evangelistic of us all! Thoughts?
