Ang, I feel like I need to give you an eye-patch, nastier looking teeth, a little less dapper outfit, and a little speech bubble reading "Yarr." Oh, and the glasses just have to go if we're going to do this right.

Durelin - that comment combined with that avvie is something so funny!

I mean it looks like: (in a slightly sarcastic voice) "Oh my God, this is hopeless, does he think that's scary, he could put a little more effort..."

Roa, you really do look like the Snow Queen... or a porcelain angel... or a vampire... or some heroine from Jane Austen's books... whichever you prefer!

My sister has promised to take a nice family pic of me and Noggie to be put on the photo page... so that might (or might not) end up here some day...

Photos make me look even worse than reality already does.

That is very good...... reminds me of when I showed my graduation photos to an older colleague who was a real pukka mem-sahib type and she said approvingly "oh you wore white gloves!" ..noooo those are my hands..... and I was merely "almost titian" (ie a bit ginger

Strawberry Blonde then?

That phrase always used to make me laugh, as it was always used by people loathe to admit they were well, a bit ginger...

Me and sun do not mix - my skin goes red, falls off and is then white once again. Whereas my father used to be out all day gardening with no shirt on and weirdly go neither brown nor red.

Anguirel - I shall hold myself back from making some 'witty' Cameron-related jokes or remarks...

I am impressed by how lovely you look in a low angle shot, Roa.
Only the young and highly attractive can carry that off....
(I remember forcing some poor photographer to hover over me on a tall chair in an attempt to look half-decent for a picture...)

Thanks for all your compliments! :blush: Keep in mind, though, that I looked extra pretty for my wedding. Normally I'm less "done up." I clean up good, though.

I've said it before, but I really love this photo page because I enjoy looking over them & being able to but a screename with a face. And as the pics update or new ones are added my memory hopefully updates with it, lol.

I should prolly send in another of me though...to give myself a more accurate representation.

Yes that's it. It is something that clearly skipped a generation since my parents could tan a bit , but my grannie had celtic skin and I got the premature grey gene from her too

. I gave up trying to tan after a lot of freckles and some horrific sunburn and so have been a devotee of big hats and high factor for years. One advantage is that you spare yourself the ageing effects of the sun - and joy of joys I have found fake tan that isn't orange so can go barelegged in the summer

It does seem that a disproportionate number of us are "pale and interesting" - I wonder if it is because a tan was seen as desirable in RL but pale skin is regarded so positivesly in ME ?

I too am extremely pale with lots of freckles and reddish-brown hair. My brother (HKF) is also quite pale, but less freckly and with brown hair that's so dark it's nearly black. We get it from our mom, who's a very pale and freckled redhead.
