Simply because she's born on St. Patrick's day and on St. Patrick's day you tend to drink, parade and wear green, at least in Ireland. So, when they do all this on March 17th, you can think they're doing it for Celuien.

Firefoot

Hooves of Fire in the singular is Hoof of Fire, hoof being a foot of an animal and it's rather clever because Firefoot is the name of a horse and our beloved member so it fits rather well in many respects. Of course, having said that I'll be wrong.
