Either that or the Dragonhelm of Dor-lómin, I think.

Rune Son of Bjarne has it right - it was the Ring of Barahir.

The question was for the oldest heirloom of Men, wasn't it? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Ring of Barahir was forged by an Elven craftsman, not a Man. It was then given to Beren by Finrod Felagund I think, to pass down all the generations before arriving with Aragorn. Been a while since I read The Silmarillion, but I think that's correct. |

yes it was made by elves, but never an elven heirloom. It was given to men and became an heirloom in their house.
I am quite sure that the definition "heirloom of men" fits the Ring of Barahir. |
