I am inclined to say that my favorite Silmarillion character is Brodda the Easterling.

Just kidding, of course. [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

The tale of Beren and Luthien has always moved me the most, but I do not identify with either of their characters as much as with others. Luthien is too beautiful, too powerful, too surreal for me to feel a real connexion with her.

I would have to say that the characters that I was most intrigued by were Finrod Felagund, Fingolfin and Thingol. Thingol was always the most perplexing character, I could never really tell what he was thinking or how wise he really was... just a few thoughts...
