Hey all, I'm (as I so often seem to be) Estel & here we go with another one. This one is a country/rock (as critics of the band put it) song called What Hurts the Most by Rascal Flats.
It's being sung by Otho Sackville-Baggins regarding his hard luck with attempts at snagging Bag End. I can take the rain on the roof of this smaller house That don’t bother me I can take a few tears now and then and just let them out I’m not afraid to cry every once in a while Even though going on without Bag End still upsets me There are days every now and again I pretend I’m ok But that’s not what gets me What hurts the most Was being so close And having so much to pack And then watching you come back And never knowing What could have been And you not seeing that moved in Is what I should have been It’s hard to deal with the pain of losing it everywhere I go But I’m doin’ It It’s hard to force that smile when I see that hole and I’m not there Still Harder Getting up, getting dressed, livin’ with this regret But I know if I could do it over I would trade give away everything that I saved in my life That I left unspent What hurts the most Is being so close And having so much to pack And then watching you come back And never knowing What could have been And you not seeing that moved in Is what I should have been What hurts the most Is being so close And having so much to pack And then watching you come back And never knowing What could have been And you not seeing that moved in Is what I should have been You not seeing that moved in That’s what I should have been Thank you and good night. |
