Thank you, Pio, for both varifying the source I used (of which I was uncertain of the validity...), and giving me some more details that I was unaware of. I do need to learn to do better research.

How does it sound to everyone if we went with the Lindon troops being forced to wait until the end of winter? Then we won't have any unreasonably long marches and such. Is it alright if the issue of winter arriving is covered in the council? (I don't mean in any of the first posts...there'll be plenty of time for more council)

So have people established the time period of the elves march to be 4-5 months?

I am fine with whatever, of course, but I'm actually wondering what made it such an argument. I mean...is anyone even RPing the elves coming with Elrond? Are those the Noldor elves? Or have I just proved myself an imbecile by asking?

I have been wondering about how far people think we are from beginning? The first posts are getting me excited.

The Elves coming with Elrond are the three gamers who are the Elves of Lindon.

It was my misunderstanding that Elrond's troops would actually reach Ost-in-Edhil and fight alongside the Elven-smiths and Dwarves. I thought we might play along with the others who are defending Ost-in-Edhil; that's why I originally wanted to get there earlier.

As Pio pointed out, we will not be doing that - ours will be more of a side game. By the time we reach Eregion, Sauron will have nearly destroyed the Elven-smiths' cities and we will be repulsed by his troops and flee north.

It really doesn't matter now how long the march will take - the Lindon Elf gamers can accomplish their part of the story line with a limited number of posts if necessary in order to get to the point where Eregion is overrun and we arrive too late.

I'm very sorry for the misunderstanding, Evinyatar. I should have better explained the situation to you from the beginning. Please forgive me.

If the Lorien Elves need help with their first posts, please feel free to PM me about it. I know there isn't much to go on concerning their situation, but Arestevana and I agreed that we should begin with their making preparations to depart Lorien. You can put as little or as much as you wish in your first posts concerning this.

Still need to hear from Sleepy Ranger.
