To be honest, I was careening off the path of this thread unintentionally. I agree that there is a balance - there has always been a need for balance for our survival, otherwise we would all be desert dwellers. My line of thinking (and its you guys fault - I am provoked mercilessly into thinking when I am here

) was this:

I think the rub lies in the use of the land, as expressed by the entwives. As opposed to the ents ummm existing in nature, being a part of it, and not above it, as it were.

Sorry for the stagger, now back on to this chapter.
