I can assure you that it is not like Bored of the Rings. BotR was released in the sixties and is a product of its time. My book has Botox injections, mobile phones, GM crops, 3D projections and many more up to date articles. In themselves I suppose they are not funny, it is only in the context that are used in which they are, then again Jackie Onassis and Dino de Laurentis are no longer funny today, to a younger generation 35yrs after BotR was released.
