ok, i know that the site was a parody, but the sad thing is, some of the people reading it actually believe what he's saying. go to the forum on the site! There are people actually saying and believing that PJ novelized the movie then PRETENDED that JRR Tolkien wrote it in the 50's!! HOW IGNORANT! i understand that it was meant to be a joke, but some jokes shouldn't go that far. especially # 13 on the site. way out of line. im sure "doctor oxford" meant no harm, just it kinda ticks me off that someone could HATE lord of the rings and THEN write a parody. its not exactly respectful. and the message board really got me going, but ill let it go. after all, what do they know? lol, hopefully nobody thinks im crazy for being a little ticked at this site.

I third that, this particular list has been discussed at least 3 times in my memory, if not more!
Enough is enough, people! Alternatively, a few friends and I have been speculating whether the BW was a member of the PPC Board. Is this true, BW? there's quite a few of us 'Downies...more specifically, Mirthies...there.

A parody -- yes that's agreed I don't think there' alot to be fired up about if you look at the web address: www.pointlesswasteoftime.com -- of course it would be a different case if it wasn't a joke but sometimes you guys HAVE to lighten up.

I have just seen this website and am filled with an odd mixture of rage, disgust and annoyance that has been left to cool for 5 minutes and put in the freezer, now I've composed myself and feel inclined to write about it, I know it's just a parody but it really annoyed me, I have a good sense of humour but this is just ridiculous.

Sorry to be overtly graphic but this is the sort of site that makes me want to violently spew my intestines.
Unfortunately I do believe that some people do not have the intellectual/ emotional capacity to understand a story so deep and moving as LotR and thus have to resort to what is effectively childish name calling... This really does anger me to extreme levels

I don't mean to offend but some people either have no skills of inference or just have not read this thread. I renew my call to close this thread because I think it is just getting silly.
If anyone does not understand what I'm saying or is in any way offended by my remarks then please, I urge you to go back and look at the site, read the entire thread and seriously think about it.

Indeed, we need a younger Bilbo. Ian Holm is getting too old for all those adventure and danger scenes. Stick a wig on him (and force him to drink lots and lots of ale for 6 months) and Vin could do it.
