"I- I know not from where my parents hail, but long did they live with the friendship of Fangorn...and I'm sorry but that is all I can bear to say." Eryndil's eyes flashed a deep sadness for a brief moment. Araréiel caught the look and regretted asking him this question. Her heart ached for him as he asked her, ""So...um- what were we talking about?"
"Well-" she began, reluctantly, "we were discussing Legolas and how shy he was." Araréiel stretched her hands over her head, staring at the sky above her. She slowly lowered her arms to her sides, palms up. Suddenly she grabed her skirt with once hand, her other in the air, and danced to a silent tune as if she had an invisible partner. She got caught up on a step she had forgotten and laughed, glad to hear Eryndil laugh with her. "Now that I've made myself a thorough fool, I'm going to ask of you what I was not going to: Will you please tell me what I know it is you are keeping from me?"
Eryndil watched her face beam at him, grinning broadly, licking her lips in anticipation of his answer. He clasped his hands behind his back, the flower bud dropping to the ground, and smiled at her. He rather enjoyed toying with her, holding back the secret information she was eager to hear. He had promised to tell no one, but he also liked seeing her happy. He had to decide what to do, to keep a promise or to tell her more, bit by bit?
