Road!!! I was going to say that!! But I didn't think followed fit it..
 But it's perfect for ever moving (road goes ever on and on...) and danger. (It's a dangerous business Frodo going out your door...)

now that I think of it, followed isn't the best hint for road... well, a little challenge is always good

After I look at it again though it is pretty good. The road is followed, I just interpreted the road as following something. Very riddle-like I do say. Let's see hmm...
