This probably doesn't count, but did anyone go completely balistic when they saw the LOTR references in Shrek 2.Or am I the only one?

Yeah Shrek 2 rocked, I really liked the bit with the...oh wait, some of you haven't seen it yet, I won't spoil it for you then. Okay, not having that evil smilie around is really getting on my nerves. This should probably go in a different topic, but I can't think of which one at the moment. Anyway, I was in church this morning and we were singing the last hymn (the last verse to be exact) and I mistook one of the words to be "precious." Even as I was singing it I knew it wasn't the right word; plus I immediatly thought of Smeagol and nearly burst out laughing. Quite embarrassing when you happen to be the pastor's daughter.

That's like me during winter holidays, singing the 12 Days Of Christmas.. I tend to get angry about the inaccuracy of the 5th verse, so I changed it to "Ooone goooolden riiiing" and just make it five partriges in a pear tree, to balance things out.

Also speaking of LOTR references, anyone read the 4th book in the Georgia Nicholson series by Louise Rennison? the title varies depending on the country it's printed in, but for the U.S. it's "Away Laughing on a Fast Camel" and in England its "And Then It Fell Off In My Hand" or something like that. Anyway, in it, Georgia roundly bashes elves and LOTR parties, which hurts me but we still love her. I'm sure the author was just staying in character and doesn't actually think that. It's still hilarious anyway, go read it.
