Ori tell Nali. Lets have the Assembly in the Chamber of Records, just because that'd be safer methinks.

Umm...hate to catch you on a technicality (unless the movie has poisoned my mind), but doesn't the engraving on Balin's grave say: Here Lies Balin song of Fundin, lord of Moria?

inscription
"BALIN
FUNDINUL UZBUD KHAZADDUMU" ...in runes. The inscription is in the book, you can translate it with the table of Cirth in the back of the book.

Mark12_30 gave the correct source.
On the great slab of white stone were deeply graven these runes: BALIN (Balin) FUNDINUL (Son of Fundin) UZBAD (Lord) KHAZADDÚMU (of Moria) At the bottom of the inscribed slab, were these runes (They translate directly into English): *BALINSONOFFUNDINLORDOFMORIA* ------------------------------------------------------------- The words, 'Here lies', were not engraved on the slab. |
