Personally, I judge them on how they affected me as films, rather than by how close they were to the book. If I went by the latter, then TTT would get my vote, since FotR and RotK left out two of my favourite chapters: <I>A Conspiracy Unmasked</I> and <I>Scouring of the Shire</I>. And yet, while I still enjoy it very much, TTT is third in my list.
