Sting Aragorn's late change of heart.

Sorry if this has already been done. I did a search but it did not comeout with anything.
In the movie aragorn acts like he doesnt know where he is going in life, with the whole "I'm like isildur" stuff in Imladris. But at the end of the movie, when Boromir dies and says the "my brother, my captain, my king" thing, Aragorn changes... I didnt even notice until watching it again, I saw boromir's arm gaurds - they have the white tree of gondor on them. When boromir's put in the boat after he passes on, he's not wearing them anymore, and we see Aragorn putting them on. Does this herald a change of heart for Aragron?

It would be a good time for it...ending one movie and going into the other. FotR was the "Strider" episode...it should be all Aragorn from now on, don't you think?

probably, but I still think that he never really changed in the books; one of the very few constants was Aragorn's steadfast ways.

Yeah, they did add that indecision into the movie. Probably they wanted to make him seem "more human" as if it was necessary. Or maybe more "sympathetic" after he was portrayed as nasty and dangerous in Bree. Maybe it did help non-readers to understand that he was Isildur's heir, and all. But then again, I thought Legolas made it pretty clear at the Council.

Yes I do think it was the change. By wearing the white tree of Gondor he must have automaticly accepted the part of being the king.
(But that could also just be me)

Aragorn would have to have changed at some point given that at the beginning of the movie he was a sissy who be his actions could never have become king. I think the reason for his change was that he saw that Boromir believed him to be the rightful air to the throne and that the people of Gondor would follow him. This gave him a boost in his self esteem which made him believe that he could be king, something he seemed to doubt. The taking of the wristguards signifies that he is now ready to be king, and that he would die for Gondor in order to protect it.

I dunno. My definition of "sissy" doesn't really fit in with one guy warding off five wraiths all by himself. I think his character was a little . . . ah, confusing. That part about indicision was a movie add-on, right? I'm trying to read the books again, really! It's so sad! I picked it up, and couldn't even make it through the prolouge, my mind was so scattered!!! Waaaaah!
Okay. Enough about me! I liked when he put on the arm-guards 'cause it kinda signified where he was going. He wasn't part of the fellowship anymore, but part of the protection of Gondor. (Poor Boromir. sniff.) Okay, I have really randomly rambled on, and if it makes no sense, I'm really sorry!
