I haven't read through all the posts so I'm sorry if any of these have already been said.
David Eddings- my favorite, Tad Williams and Patricia C. Wrede- she has some funny ones and some serious ones, both good I highly recommend those to anyone who likes fantasy. Excellent authors. But of course Tolkien remains the Master.
