Skaibad cocked an eye at Nozhdrul, he really liked the way this one thought. He licked his lips, searching for any remaining taste of meat. He opened his mouth to reply when he was distracted by an easterling approaching the prisoner, they asked for his name 'why should you care?' Skaibad thought, the prisoner refused, the easterling got annoyed and had to be dragged off. It was only now that he realised the easterling was female, he laughed to himself, they couldn't even keep their females under control, let alone a prisoner. Nozhdrul opened his mouth to prompt Skaibad, Skaibad held his hand up, he would come back to that plan later, the sun was sinking at last and a patrol was setting out.

Skaibad stood in the mouth of the cave and watched as they started to practise their fighting. Suddenly another group of oecs rushed out from behind Skaibad and knocked him to the ground, he landed face first in the mud. Looking up he saw the orcs face the easterlings but he also heard a small laugh. He looked around and saw the one who laughed, a small orc, keeping guard. The orc stopped laughing as soon as he saw Skaibad's face, but too late, Skaibad jumped up and grabbed the orc by the throat, he'd make sure that orc would never laugh again.

He left the body and followed another Easterling back into the cave, he walked to the prisoner and again, asked the prisoner's name, he then went on to threaten the prisoner. Skaibad laughed to hear such threats coming from a man, it was a harsh laugh, which grated on the ears of all who heard it. The easterling looked away from the prisoner and at Skaibad, "What's so amusing?" he asked. "You know nothing of torture and pain," he sneered, "If I had my way, that elf would be screaming for mercy before the night was through." he looked at the elf with a grim longing in his eye.
