"Ellie, wait!" Drago sprang up from the bed, running to the door, just in time to see her disappear down the stairs.

He hadn't meant it that way. It had come out wrong! How could he have let it come out sounding like that?

"How could you let this happen?" a familiar voice resonated in his memory. Drago saw the looming, formidable form of the cleric standing before him, the terrifying metal staff clutched in his hand.

Drago swayed a bit in the doorjam, clamping his hand to the side of his head, steadying his body and his mind.

"Don't start that back up, Drago," he thought harshly. "Go after her. She's upset, and it's your fault."

Drago ran down the hall and down the stairs, landing with a slight thud at the bottom, looking around for Ellie and Champignonne.
