It was getting dark outside. Morestel glanced around. Two elves, siblings by the look of them, were being led up to a room by the landlady. She considered following them, but decided to wait until they returned; rest was always needed after a long journey, as Morestel knew quite well. But she did want to speak to them. It had been long since she had spoken to one of her own kind.

"Excuse me, do you need anything?" A waitress was standing in front of Morestel. She pushed back her hood, and looked up at the girl with startling silver-blue eyes.

"Some wine," she said, her tone light. "And I would like to speak to the landlord or lady about renting a room for the night." The girl nodded, and left.
