I totally agree with you - the Ringwraith CANNOT be killed by men, hobbits or ELVES using ordinary weapons. The sword that killed the Witch-King was from Westernesse, made in the wars against Angmar - and the magic on it was not elvish but it was specially against the Witch-King of Angmar. That was thr reason why it was able to break the spell and made it possible for Eowyn to kill him. It was made long ago for this occasion, that has nothing to do with Elvish magic. The Elves are able to injure and weaken the Nazgul, but not to kill them. That would be too easy, and they were not that dangerous if every Elf who is brave enough can kill them. And the Elves are overrated a lot, specially in the Third Age. They lost a lot of their power and they are leaving Middle Earth! If it would have been necessary, the Witch- King would have even entered Lothlorien searching for the Ring - and I don't think that Galadriel would have prevent that. But that is another topic...
