interesting sub-story you've put in. Maybe Gilthalion will allow it (if he hasn't seen it yet). Too bad your white pup (awww, why not silver?) is too far from where Anarya and Rûdhchamion are (the dark elf is quite fond of animals, as all elves do!)... but of course you didn't specify your exact location. Although you mentioned Rivendell... why would they need to be in or pass Mirkwood?

Rûdhchamion won't be familiar w/ Saruman's symbol. He and his kind has lived far from the "civilized" communities and do not often mingle w/ outsiders. Your character will probably have more knowledge than he on this matter... although of course both of them may both be ignorant of the symbol. Ummm, shall we rescue the pup? he might come in handy!
