Ransom didn’t like the situation. This Calixto, besides being an abomination in serious need of absolution, seemed to be quite a shrewd operator. Surely he would have some sort of bodyguard around him. And, no matter the magic that Elanor possessed, Calixto surely would have developed a method to nullify her power. On the other hand, he would surely be expecting his former prisoners to make an attempt to escape. Perhaps purging this menace would be the safest path.

The female elf was beginning to struggle again, and Ransom was rapidly losing his temper. He bent down until his helmet was near her ear before whispering, “I consider myself honorable. Let us make an agreement. Stay still and I shall not hurt your accursed body. Move, and I shall hand you to the redheaded elf.”

Much to his satisfaction, the evil elf tried once again to struggle. Ransom quickly applied pressure to her jugular vein, cutting off blood flow to her brain. She struggled for a moment before falling unconscious.

“Now that she is taken care of, let us be on our way.”
