Strife in the fourth and fifth decades of the fifteenth century of the third age had as it origins conflict over the maintenance of pure descent from Tar-Minyatur (thence from the Edain). The bloodline was mingled by Valacar while a diplomatic pawn in Rhovanion. Disconteneted elements in the coastal population revolted and (I believe) formed themeselves as the corsairs of Umbar.
