Do there still live people in Erigon?

Eregion is the name of the land along the west side of the Misty Mountains between Rivendell and Moria. Men call it Hollin because of the holly trees that grow there. It was once the home of the great Elven-smiths, who traded with the Dwarves of Moria for the precious metal mithril. It was there that the Rings of Power were made. Now it is an empty and desolate land.

I needed a village for an RPG and it had to be not fameous. I checked with Alkoonion and he gave me that. What I wonder is, are there still living people there? Is it possible that there is a village that went unnoticed?
