I'd think so - the Sphinx is another WereBear-type role, it's not on the Wolves' team and it wins if it survives to the end. The Hunter can kill it, the Ranger can't protect from it.

I don't know if riddles are the best way to go though - it depends on the riddle-knowledge of the asker, and on if the askee would Google the answer. Though anyone who would cheat at the most ancient game of Riddles is a sneak and is probably under some sort of evil influence.
