A civil war, nasty as it would have been, would seem to have been as necessary as the American Civil War was, and (arguably) the English Civil War. And who knows, she might have at least escaped to Middle-earth and been the founder of Gondor/Arnor and Company. But she was obviously no Erendis, Galadriel, Eowyn, etc.
