Pipe Leaf?
I know, I sound stupid for asking this, but it`s driving me crazy.

In the Fellowship of the Ring (movie) Saruman says to Gandalf:

Your love of the halflings leaf has clearly slowed your mind.
What does he mean? I`ve always though it a type of figure of speech, if you follow me, but I was watching it yesterday and got thinking about it. Leaf? As in pipe weed? I guess it would slow your mind.

(By the way, I know this sounds like it should probably be in Middle-earth Mirth, but I`m being serious.)
